Zoar Lutheran Church and Canby Kiwanis serve a free dinner to the community each Tuesday from 5 – 6 pm. We served 6,528 meals over 52 weeks in 2025.
Often our guests eat a meal in the Narthex, then take a meal home for the next day or to a shut-in neighbor or friend.
The cost of each meal averages about $1.09 thanks to generous donations of food and incredibly mindful shopping.
A very loyal group of church members prepare the food with the Canby Kiwanis serving. Both groups help with the clean-up. These volunteers are very dedicated and cheerfully come each week.
We receive a food donation from the Gleaners twice a month. This year, that donation was over 7,700 pounds! We use what we can for cooking the meals and the rest is available on a table for our guests to take home.
We are incredibly grateful for all our volunteers and those who bake cookies. Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and contributions. Additional volunteers are always needed.
Thanks be to God!
