Zoar Lutheran Provides Financial Support for a Foster Youth to be Adopted

Throughout the fall, the Zoar Lutheran Church family has been raising money for A Family for Every Child.

A Family for Every Child (AFFEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding permanent and loving adoptive families for waiting foster children. To accomplish our mission, we focus on finding loving and permanent families for children who the foster care system considers “hard to place.” The children who fall into this category are usually older, ethnically diverse, part of a sibling group, or have severe physical, emotional and/or developmental challenges.

We set a goal to raise $2,250 to cover the fees associated with one adoption. By the end of the year, we exceeded our goal and gave almost $2,400 to this wonderful organization.

Thank you to everyone that helped provide an Oregon family with one less hurdle in the adoption process.
